What is the author saying about what it means to be a creator/the responsibility of a scientist?

A scientist's responsibility is to see their experiment through to the end..... to nurture it from start to finish. Scientists do not walk away from their research unless there is nothing left to learn...... until the experiment in over. Victor abandoned his experiment, the life he created..... and he left it to its own devices..... a full grown infant without a parent.
