Walton is on a boat frozen in. His men dislike him and he feels utterly alone and sad. He thirsted for the knowledge of exploration but he only found isolation. Victor too has ostracized himself from society. His thirst for creating human life has lead him to disaster. Like Walton, he is alone and unhappy.
