To answer this question you would need to define "liberals". The Founding Fathers believed in government for and by the people.... something almost unheard in a world of monarchies. They believed in liberty, equality, and the opportunity for individuals to build the lives they dreamed of..... to pursue happiness. Their ideas were extremely liberal in a time when governments were structured around "divine right". Thankfully, they also provided a document with so much forethought that it continues to work today.
