Why was the 1st decade of the republic the most important in American history?

This answer is quite simple.... the first decade was important because the republic survived. Wars, debates, different belief systems.... all of these things had to be overcome by the Founders. In the end, they succeeded, but not without knowing that everything they did and said would be deciphered and analyzed throughout history.
