Matt totally supports Charlie. He sticks up for him, answers for him, and attempts to make sure the two children are treated the same. Rose places her daughter above Charlie as the favorite child and makes it completely obvious. It's almost as if she tries to pretend her son does not exist. Norma is pampered by her mother..... the rules are different..... her mother cares what she thinks, whereas, Charlie is simply not a consideration.
