quirks

A barely detectable repetitive unconscious physical mannerism.

raucous

Behavior deemed wild and unconstrained.

tawny

A shade of color which stretches from light brown to brownish orange in hue

scarfing

The act of eating with tremendous energy and hungry desire.

porcelain

Metaphorical description synonymous with extreme paleness of pigmentation.

quench

To satisfy an intense thirst.

obliterating

The act of completely annihilating or destroying something.

transformative

The power to cause, create, or stimulate the process of one thing transforming into another.

vanity

A synonym for a makeup table, usually with a lighted mirror attached.

feral

Possessing a quality of wildness left untamed or untouched by civilized behavior.

quip

A witty remark made off-the-cuff and usually in response to something said by another.

ghoul

A ghoul was the proper term for the figure in horror fiction which has become synonymous with the zombie. Technically, “zombie” was never used to described a dead person brought back to life until the success of George Romero’s “Living Dead” films and even he didn’t use that term. What is considered a zombie by 21st century standards has traditionally been known as a “ghoul.”

garrote

A collar made of heavy metal used for the purpose of execution by strangulation

spectral

Describing anything that is supernatural or ghostly in appearance and origin.

wrenching

An experience causing tormenting or excruciating emotional response.

sanctioned

Having been conferred official through certified approval by governing authorities.

sinew

The stringy parts of anatomy like tendons, ligaments, muscle and flesh.
