What does Matilda wake up to? What does this mean for the Matilda and the people of Philadelphia? What are three things that happen as a result?

Matilda wakes up and sees the first frost on the garden.

The fetid stench that had hung over the city for weeks was gone, replaced with brittle, pure air.
• No insects hovered over the dying plants or the well.

Mattie and Eliza were able to take the children in the garden to cool them, the farmers began to return to the city, and fresh meat and produce could safely be transported to other places.
