Fahrenheit 451

Why is Captain Beatty opossed to Montag and how does the Captain force Montag to reevaluate himself?

This can be found throughout the book but i can not seem to found a good/right answer. Mainly can be found between parts 1-3.

I believe he opposed because he must have had some experieces about books, and that is obvious from the way he speeks. Beatty's small warnings to Montag might be one of the way that made him reevaluate.
