Why do you think that Bradbury would introduce Clarisse before Montag’s wife, Mildred?

Clarisse is a character foil to Mildred. While Mildred is narrow minded and superficial, Clarisse self-aware and thoughtful. Clarisse's free spirit juxtaposes Mildred's self-absorption and isolation.
