Throughout the novel, the reader is presented with a conflict between knowledge and ignorance. Ignorance seems to be the status quo of this society. People are intellectually and emotionally stagnated. They live in a superficial world of T.V walls and drugs. After Montag meets Clarisse, he has a moment of enlightenment. Montag sees that knowledge must triumph over ignorance if this society is to continue
