Fire- Fire symbolizes a purifier. It cleans the world of books that would add meaning to people's lives; the state does not want this.

Phoenix: Egyptian mythology; a bird that lives in the Arabian desert for six hundred years and then sets itself on fire, It rises again to renew its life, perhaps stronger than it was before. It symbolizes of immortality.
