Fahrenheit 451

Read the paragraph that starts with the phrase, “He saw himself in her eyes...” (11). In what ways does Montag identify with Clarisse? Why does he say her face glows with the light of a candle and not an electric light? What might this symbolize?

This happens when Montag first meets Clarisse and is describing her features.

Clarisse prefers the old ways of how things were ran in the society. They both noticed something weird about the society. They both like to go on evening walks. They both don’t like to be glued to the ‘Parlor Walls’.
