I am just really wondering what other people think about this. This question is really asking how do the current reality shows and social media compare with the 3 walled TV that Mildred would take part in.
Mildred is obsessed with the people on the TV wall. She is closer to them than she is to real people. These scripted shows are much like our reality shows where viewers get caught up in the lives of people that they do not know. These shows are of course scripted and planned out to achieve a large viewer audience. It is the illusion of voyeurism and emotional connection that Mildred and her friends seek in these shows. This is not unlike the psychology behind our own reality shows.
