I'm reading Fahrenheit 451 by ray Bradbury and i have to questions about it.

How did the issue of conformity and non-individuality affect their society?

and how did their society function because of it?

Conformity everyone must follow the rules - reading of books and free thinking is against the law. Their society was ruined - school was just a means of a funnel like system where the teachers just gave you the answers. Local teenagers ran a muck and their was a high fatality rate among them
