Fahrenheit 451

Fahrenheit 451

On page 119, "Approaching from the rear, Montag entered the men's washroom. Through the aluminum wall he heard a radio voice saying, war has been declared" What ultimately causes this war? Does Montag who had killed Beatty realizes that what he is doing is wrong?

We know very little about the war, as Bradbury's ultimate focus is on the complacent ignorance of the population. We hear about the possibility of a war, as well as evidence that war is looming ahead..... the radio messages, flights of planes.... but we are never given details.
