What do you think Mattie said to Mrs. Hale?

After Mattie woke up from the accident she said something to Mrs. Hale. Mrs. Hale couldn't say the sentence that Mattie said and she started crying. What do you think she said?

In my opinion, Mattie said something to the effect that Ethan would now be stuck taking care of her.... possibly, she said that she wished she would have died in the accident. Can you imagine being cared for by your lover's wife..... I can't.
