It seems that everyone blames Esperanza's uncles for their situation. If one uncle is to be blamed, it would likely be Tío Luis, who is obsessed with marrying Mama.

They blame Tio Luis.Tio was obsessed with Mama and wanted to marry her but when she said "no" he said "you will regret it". That regret symbolizes him burning down her house. ( Im 10 and I read this book in school believe me I know everything)

Esperanza Uncles. Tio marco and Tio luis. Its more likely that that all blame tio Luis. ( i read this at school i know all the answers just like danasia
