Esperanza Rising, Chapter 5, Los Melones

The main probem in Chapter Five revolves around Esperanza's confusion and uncertainty in regard to her new life. Class division will serve to be a problem, as Esperanza must learn to adjust to this life. She is a fish out of water. One way in which Esperanza's problems seem to be providing a positive result is in her relationship with Miguel. Their relationship immediately begins to shift, as they are now equals.
