I thought that the gravity hook is pretty cool. It allowed the user do defy the laws of gravity and ant-gravity to move around a training zone. Ender is presented with this when he becomes commander of his own team. The hook allowed the person to move, almost teleport, from one place to another within a location. The hook is important both in symbol and function. It is a symbol of Ender's status as a commander and it allows him complete control of his men or rather boys.
