Ender's Game

The Buggers can communicate instantaneously, and they fought humans at first because they did not believe that they were sentient being? Is this a statement about war? About Communication?

When Rackham and Graff tell Ender that the entire final exam hasn't really been a game, he is devastated. Technology and the ability for one world (or country) to gain access to another's is a terrifying statement about warfare. Ender has been playing what he believed to be a game, but instead, he been commanding real ships across interstellar distances. Instantaneous communication through Philotic Energy was first used by the Buggers; the commanders reverse engineered their technology and used it to attack them with their own weapon. We relate to this concept best in terms of a nuclear war....... what would we do if three different countries sent out nuclear warheads? Would anyone survive? Or would entire races disappear?
