Do you think Jonathan Harker was right not to believe what he was being told by the superstitious villagers? Would you have believed them? Why or why not?
This question should be fun for students to address since it implicates them directly. This is essentially asking, "Would you do the same thing that the main character of this horror movie is doing?"—and many people, most of the time, would be inclined to think that they wouldn't. But Jonathan is such an "everyman" character, and the warnings of the villagers are so bizarre, that it's pretty easy for students to second-guess themselves and each other.
