"The Canonization" and "The Sun Rising," both celebrate the private world of lovers, something in direct contrast to the conventional love poetry of the Renaissance. In most of the period's "love" poetry, feelings were shouted from the rooftops....... not so with Donne's works.

Both the poems "The cannonization" and "The sun rising" are love poems.
