The solution to Greg's inability to fit in with his friends and family has everything to do with the natural process of growing up and maturing. The fact that Greg feels like an outsider, only adds to his problem. He wants to be attractive, interesting, and popular, and yet, the harder he tries, the more he mucks it up. It is only when he learns to simply be himself that his problems find a solution.
