what is it in the suitcase that Daphne carried at Richard's house?

I couldn't find any evidence in the text itself by doing a word search, but I did confirm my initial thoughts in an article from Wordpress. The articel cited the following information.

"In Devil in a Blue Dress he takes on his first ‘case’, when he’s asked to search for a beautiful white woman who has run off with a suitcase of someone else’s money."

On page 224 of the text we learn that Daphne no longer has the beat-up old suitcase after Easy pays her landlord (with cash).
