Willy has a difficult relationship with Biff. Willy sees Biff as a reflection of himself: a failure. Biff has no career, family, prospects... Biff is a failed high school football star who is squandering his life. Willy feels he has already squandered his life. Willy, in turn, uses his failure to spite his father.
