Crimes and Misdemeanors Irony

A Job

Lester, Wendy's brother offers Cliff a good paying job filming a television show. The irony is that Lester doesn't want to hire Cliff, it's a favor to Wendy. And the job is following Lester around doing a biography on him, and Cliff cannot stand Lester.

Schubert

Dolores wants Judah to play her Schumann when they get back to the house, but he tells her he wants to play Schubert for her. The irony is that Schumann, to Judah is flowery, while Schubert is sad which how he sees Dolores.

Shoulder to Cry On

Cliff listens to his sister because she's had a difficult time with a guy she's been dating and is crying. The irony is that he finds out the guy has defecated on his sister after tying her up. Being her shoulder to lean on became more than what he bargained for.

No Choice

Judah is in the midst of dealing with his affair with Dolores which has gotten to the point of her being ready to tell his wife. He is offered the opportunity to kill Dolores and ironically he sits with Ben, a Rabbi telling him that he has no choice. He has to kill her because it's the only way out, telling his wife isn't an option.

Murder

Judah goes through with having Dolores murdered by Jack's people. He believes it's the only thing to do. Ironically, once it is done he finally feels the weight of his decision and realizes that he cannot live with himself.
