The Tropics of New York

Explain the author's use of fruit, and what fruit represents? And in a paragraph, paraphrase what the poet is really depicting through the ideas of fruits and weeping?

The fruit represents McKay's childhood, the sights and smells.... the memories. The poet is depicting his longing for the past.... the innocence of childhood.
