After reading the story, what are your thoughts about Jonathan?

My impression of Jonathan was that he was a man of great strength and character. Jonathan never gives up, never feels sorry for himself, and rather than complain about his circumstances, he works steadily toward changing them. He's the kind of man you'd like to know.
