Citizen: An American Lyric

How do you respond to the form and the format of the book?

Citizen isn't a straightforward narrative, but a mixture of all kind of things:

What are your thought about the forms works or doesn't?

Why do you think Rankine chose to present her work in this way

How do the form and the cotent realeted to each other?

To illustrate your ideas about the form and content of the book - pick a passage or two that you feel shows what you are talking about

This is only a short answer space but I can provide a general comment. The structure is free form, stream of consciousness. There are are short scenes of fiction, juxtaposed against real excerpts from CNN coverage of historical events. There are dialogues, poetry, prose, and abstract essays about all things prejudicial and unjust.
