In Chapter 6, what does Adeline realize about her father?

In Chapter Six, Adeline realizes that she cannot depend upon her father anymore than the rest of her family. His response to her being lost wasn't what you would expect from a father. There was no sense of urgency or worry, he merely told her to learn how to read a map.
