What are Buck's experiences with the wolves before and after the Yeehat attack on camp?

Buck had been interested in the wolves before the attack. He has run off with one but returned to Thornton. After the attack Buck kills the Yeehats and fulfills his responsibility to Thornton. He then takes his place as alpha-dog of the wolves.
