Does John relate to the works of Shakespeare in the same way a religious man relates to the words of “God”?

I think there is some truth to this. John clings to Shakespeare like some gospel of truth that cannot be disproved. In a society that has abandoned most of the traditions and emotions that put the human in humanity, John quotes Shakespeare like it is his last refuge of solace.
