Lenina is a beautiful woman who meets the group of students while inoculating the infants against yellow fever. She dates Henry Foster in the beginning but agrees to go out with Bernard Marx to the Savage Reservations. Lenina is a slave to the status-quo of society. She takes Soma to relax, she is promiscuous, she refuses to think outside the parameters of her caste or what she is told to think by the state.
