Pauline loves the Fishers. In fact, she treats the Fishers better than she treats her own family. Her happiness with her job does not extend to her homelife. It's almost as if she resents having to go home. She is abusive to her children and abrasive to her husband. It's almost as if she resents her family for taking time away from the place she loves, the Fisher home.
