Yes, they are. Oloisudori wants to marry Resian, and her father is forced to give in to avoid losing his business.

Kaelo holds Resian responsible for his lack of a male heir... he does not support her.

Mama can be held responsible for Resian's problems because she, herself, once stood for women's rights. Sfter the move to Nasila, Mama put aways her beliefs, and the things she once wanted, abandoning her daughter in the process.
