Authored by Octavia Butler, Bloodchild is a short story that brings out the theme of love. It is a story that is set on a foreign planet where the humans who are known as Terrans live with their insect like hosts referred to as Tlics. The story demonstrates the interdependence between the humans and the members of the alien society. The hosts provide humans with accommodation and some “eggs “that make them healthier and increase their lifespan. In return, humans become hosts for their egg implantation.
