What is Grendels reaction to the poet singing/ why does he react this way?

Grendel is touched by the poetry. He feels captivated by the beauty and passion of his words. At the same time the words also intensifies Grendel's own isolation and anguish. While the other Geats and Vikings can share in the moment, Grendel remains alone.
