Certainly, different cultures have similarities and differences of what a "hero" is. Generally, a hero or hero's journey can be summed up in Dr. Joseph's Campbell's "The hero's journey.” Cultural preferences can often differ. One man's "terrorist" could be another man's "freedom fighter". The details however follow the same progression as Joseph's Campbell's "The hero's journey." Check this out:
