breast cancer

What about this topic ? As I know, Lady Delacour has no breast cancer, that is only a fear. During the duel, a ball shoot her breast. But is there a chirurgical operation ? What is the result ? Is this topic - the breast cancer- linked with her life or the life of relatives ? Or linked with books which she could have read before.
