Jean-Paul Sartre was a French philosopher, and one of the most influential thinkers of the 20th century. In this essay, Sartre discusses his existential philosophy, a school of thought he is now known for.

Immanuel Kant

Sartre mentions German philosopher Immanuel Kant in this text. Although Kant contributed to philosophical thought in a number of different areas (such as ethics and aesthetics) Sartre specifically challenges Kant on his epistemological arguments.
