Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress

The seamstress

what is the purpose of not revealing the seamstress' name when the boys evidently know it? I forgot where in the book, but I remember reading that Lou called her by her real name, although it is not actually revealed.

The Seamstress' name is not important. The story is about how she is seen and known.... she could be anyone. She could be the potter or the baker... what she does is a huge part of who she is.
