    Students will identify the novel's main characters and find excerpts from the text that exemplify their individual voices.

    Common Core Standards:



    Divide students into small groups. Have them identify each member of the Bundren family given a voice (Addie does not speak, so she is exempt) and write down their names and relationships to each other.
