what if common goods are evil?

For ex., everyone in the city are in danger, and one's death can save everyone from that danger. Then, can you say that a person should sacrifice for common good? what if that isn't only one, but ten, eleven, the minority, anyway.

I suppose, from Aristotle's point of view, that one person should sacrifice for the greater good.
