The Seed of Innovation

“Look!”

At the dinner table, my father presented me with a concept map. I knew that I would be his audience, listening to his idea of creating the Home of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, a hub to nurture and encourage creativities.

One year later, sitting on a taxi, I saw piles of red, yellow and blue interlocked containers with windows and stairs in the middle of a once abandoned plot of land. Portraits of Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs and Jack Ma conveyed a sense of entrepreneurship.

Within seconds, I realized that my father’s concept map had become a reality. I left the taxi and walked into this unconventional building. I closed my eyes, imagining future young entrepreneurs communicating enthusiastically with each other. I imagined how my father’s creativity would inspire so much more creativity in other people.

Influenced by my father, I became a strong believer of innovation. In the W-media Club, I planned activities like Color Run to include everyone in the school to celebrate the joy of ingenuity. I also want to work as a policy-maker who offers more people the chance of innovating, like my father did, in the future.
