Is Drinking Alcohol While Pregant an Unneccessary Risk to Prenatal Development?

It is a well known fact that drinking heavily causes birth defects in the developing fetus. As far as having a few drinks or a glass of wine, the jury is still out. Obviously, there can be no argument that abstaining from alcohol throughout pregnancy is the best advice.
