What new ways of doing business did Americans develop?

I think with the advent of Ford motors (read Brave New world, really it's good!) You had the whole assembly line mass economy thing going. Outsourcing cheap jobs to impoverished countries also seemed an American thing to do. Unfortunately in America everybody wants everything so banks started to lend out money they don't have to people who couldn't possibly pay it back. I think that's an American thing. Okay, I'm not an economist so I think I'll stop answering these. Still, I hope I helped a little!
