The Late Paleozoic period ended with the joining of the continents we know as Pangaea.

Animal life still consisted primarily of fish, but it is also believed that it nwas during this time fish began to develop primitive lungs, which enabled them to spend periods of time on land. Thus, we are then introduced to amphibians.

Plant life consisted of ferns, trees, and rushes. Some trees are believed to have been 30 meters tall.
