Why is Earth not getting larger even though new lithosphere is constantly being added at the oceanic ridges?
The earth is big enough already.
Evidence can be found that the earth isn't growing or shrinking in the fact that the production and destruction of the lithosphere is occurring at the same rate. Thus, when the lithosphere experiences growth in one area, it is experiencing destruction in another.
