347 &&&. Love Without Love by Luis Llorens Torres (Poem)

347 &&&. Can you please identify one simile, two metaphors in this poem, and then explain what ideas are being communicated in each.

Simile:

"Love me that way, flying over everything.

And, like the bird on its branch, land in my arms

only to rest..."

This speaker doesn't feel the love of the other is dependable of all that deep. The speaker feels that he/she merely uses them as a place to rest.

Metaphor:

"Suddenly I've felt you flying through my soul."

The speaker feels this person intensely when he/she is they are not prepared.

"When you climb up my mansion..."

THe speaker is saying that if you do have a relationship with me, be gentle. Don't ignite my passion so easily only to hurt me in the end.
