Cleopatra, why did you want to kill yourself?

There are many rumors surrounding Cleopatra's death. It is said that she killed herself after Marc Antony's own suicide. Antony had just suffered a great defeat after the Battle of Actium. He did not, however, take his own life until Cleopatra faked her own. It is believe that Cleopatra subsequently killed herself to avoid being taken prisoner by Octavian, who was nearby.

Another theory is that she took a pin, dipped it into snake poison and the spread it on her arm.
